1. Skin Was Not Cleaned Properly Before Application

This is the #1 cause. Oil, makeup residue, skincare products, and natural sebum all create a barrier between your skin and the adhesive. No matter how good the adhesive is, it cannot bond to an oily surface reliably. Even if it appears to hold at first, the oil migrates through the adhesive layers over 24-48 hours and begins separating the bond from beneath.

2. Oil or Product on Skin After Cleaning

You cleaned with alcohol, then applied moisturizer, SPF, or foundation before your glue. Everything you put on your skin after the alcohol wipe and before the glue application breaks the bond. 6. Lace Was Trimmed Too Close to the Bond

If you cut the excess lace too aggressively, you may have removed part of the bonded lace area. The lace needs overlap with the adhesive to stay down. Trim slowly, cut no closer than 1mm from the visible adhesive line, and use small sharp scissors with precise control.
