Why Does My Wig Lace Lift? Causes and How to Fix It

1. Skin Was Not Cleaned Properly Before Application
This is the #1 cause. Oil, makeup residue, skincare products, and natural sebum all create a barrier between your skin and the adhesive. Even if it appears to hold at first, the oil migrates through the adhesive layers over 24-48 hours and begins separating the bond from beneath.

2. Oil or Product on Skin After Cleaning

6. Lace Was Trimmed Too Close to the Bond
